This note is to Josh

If mr Max Brooks is right, the cause is Solanum,it is a virus and it does NOT reanimate the body after death, it ‘kills’ the body, then when the vic is pronounced dead, his or her brain is in a form of stasis. what Solanum does is it ‘turns off’ the the body and replicates a mutated form of Solanum, destroying the frontal part of the brain in the process, THEN it reanimates.

@josh You’re argument does seem completely reasonable, but there still is the possibility that something like a zombie apocalypse could happen. The fact is, we don’t truly understand everything in the world around us. We seem to constantly be discovering new things. Furthermore, the government does tend to experiment with stupid things. I’m sure if someone was smart enough and determined enough they could find a way to create something that could activate the certain parts of the brain needed for a dead body to be reanimated. After all, it’s not like they’re trying to re awaken the persons mind.

I hate to burst people bubbles, but zombies (at least scientifically speaking) cannot exist for a number of reasons.
1st, complex life is based on very delicate balances; throw of any one of them and system is destroyed. When the body dies, it becomes toxic as cells and fluids break down. Only certain bacteria, such as anthrax, can survive in such an environment. this means that cells could not survive to make the zombie mobile. this leads into my second point.
If the zombie is dead, it could not be made mobile and thus is harmless. dead cells cannot metabolize glucose, and thus cannot generate power. Conservation of energy states you have to put energy into a system to get energy out. even if somehow that wasn’t true, rigamortis and the bloating of body tissue would make the zombie unable to move effectively; meaning walking and any other complex task would be extremely difficult.
Also say, hypothetically, there was a virus or something that defied both biology and physics and could create a zombie, people would not just be bitten fall down and die then stand back up a zombie. viruses and bacteria have to spread throughout the body in order to infect the host to a point of infection (rabies takes a MINIMUM of 9 days to incubate, but can take months even years,). This is more than enough time to quantine areas and administer antibodies/ treatments.
