According to Diamond Comics shipping list, “Advent Rising: Rock the Planet” #5 limps into stores today after many months of delays. This issue caps off the mini-series and concludes the “Rock the Planet” storyline.

Literally. I got my comps today. In the past I’ve gotten comps the same week the book arrives in stores. So perhaps Advent Rising #5 will be at a shop near you tomorrow.

The word from 360ep is that Advent Rising #5 has shipped from the printer and is on the way to the distributor. I don’t know what that means for a release date exactly. Just that it’s a strong indicator the the book will be release (for those that doubted).

This the final issue that wraps up the storyline that started over a year ago.

Majesco is once again selling ‘Advent: Rising’…this time through the Steam broadband gaming thingamabob.

Is there still some life in the Advent franchise?

Well, according to Diamond’s shipping list, the long-delayed “Advent Rising: Rock the Planet” #5 will not ship this week, the final week of September.

I did talk to Jemas just last week though and, through his chagrin, he assured me that the book is coming out…so it must be October then!

The Diamond list does verify that “Heir To Fire” will be in all comics shops this Wednesday!

Sad to state the obvious: the publication of “Advent Rising: Rock the Planet #5″ has drifted far off course. The book, which is the final issue of the mini-series, is at least six month late at this point.

For those of you who are still hanging on to see what happens when Ethan is forced to arrest his own brother for crimes against the company…well…the word from 360ep is that they still plan to publish the book.

360ep resolicted the book (had to be done, due to the lateness…after a certain period the distributor terminates the book order and you have to start over). They tell me they are working hard to make sure it is in stores by September.

Apologies to all who have been waiting for the comic. Thanks to those that are still hanging in there with it. Here’s hoping #5 finally makes it into stores next month.

Here’s a look at the cover art to the fifth and final issue of “Advent Rising: Rock the Planet”. The book will be out later this month or early June.

I got my comp copies of “Advent Rising Rock the Planet #4” in the mail today. Yay!

But two of the pages are printed out of order. Boo!

So, when you’re reading through, keep an eye out for the “Flotsam & Jetsam” ad. When you see it, skip ahead two pages, then go back one, then proceed on as normal.

Overall the book looks nice. It was fun to read through it again after almost four months, having (wrapped the script on it back in December).

The artwork on the series has been kind of experimental with the team pushing for a certain style. I really like the cover treatment of this one, as it really preserves Cliff’s detailed pencils but still has nice, vibrant colors.

AR:RTP4 goes on sale Wednesday!

Production problems seem to have knocked “Advent” into a six-eight week distribution orbit. Issue #4 looks to be headed for stores later this month.

Issue #3 of ‘Advent Rising: Rock the Planet’ finally goes on sale next Wednesday, February 8.
