The latest word is that “Heir to Fire” will hit comic stores on September 27. Joining it will be “The Forest King”, “What I did on my Hypergalactic, Interstellar Summer Vacation” and “Spirit of the Samurai”. Mostly likely the next two Actionopolis books, “Blackfoot Braves Society” and “The Anubis Tapestry” […]

They’re coming…. 2

I just got word from the publisher at Actionopolis: “Heir to Fire” along with the six other spine-tingling, laugh-a-minute, action-packed, fantasy-filled, mystifying and hair-raising launch titles have arrived at port in the U.S.A.! That means they’ll be wending their way through distribution channels and showing up in stores in short […]

Harriet to “Fire”

Noted internet book reviewer Harriet Klausner took a peek at “Heir to Fire” and liked what she saw. …an exciting horror story in which young readers will identify with the reluctant hero, a reticent teen who tries to do his best to defeat evil. The characters are realistic and the […]

‘Heir to Fire’ makes landfall…

Shannon Denton rang me up last night to tell me the first production copies of “Heir to Fire” have arrived at the secret underground Actionopolis headquarter. Neither galleys nor dummies nor any other preview version of the book. These are the real deal! They’re part of a small quantity of […]

‘Heir to Fire’ price watch 2

Those of you who pre-ordered early from Amazon got a bargain on ‘Heir to Fire’. This weekend they raised their asking price to $10.36. That’s still a 20% discount on cover, same as offered by Barnes & Noble. However, if you’re a B&N Reader’s Advantage member you get an additional […]

Heir to Fire creeps out Magic Tree

Tanya Cliff of Magic Tree Bookstore in Oak Park, IL read “Heir to Fire” and liked it! ?Heir to Fire? was completely unpredictable and I couldn?t put it down. The gross, creepy, spooky events made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. This is the first of […]

Back From San Diego 1

Came in from San Diego this morning. Had a blast at the convention…perhaps the best time I’ve ever had there. I shared a room with Jonah Weiland and Augie DeBlieck from CBR, two entertaining guys who have their comedy routine pretty tight after 7-8 years of rooming at cons together. […]

TigerFist by Rafael Albuquerque

I’ve had a lot to say recently about my Actionopolis book “Heir to Fire“, which is coming out in August. My other Actionopolis book, “The Legend of TigerFist” is also moving forward fast. We have been out talking to artists for the past few months and recently signed on a […]

“Forgotten Planet” forgotten no more! 2

According to the shipping list on Millarword Narwain’s “Tales from a Forgotten Planet #2” will be in stores this week. The anthology title features stories written by myself along with pals Shannon Denton and Christopher Long. As an added bonus, my story reunites me with my young-yet-ancient collaborator Andy Kuhn, […]

Good Vibes for “Heir to Fire”

Wow…it’s been a really good week (or ten days) for “Heir to Fire”. We’ve been getting great coverage of the book from the comic press at Newsarama.com, CBR and Pulse. The book also got a nice review at FantasyBookSpot.com. But the very best thing was hearing from the mother who […]

Motor City Comic-Con

I attended Motor City Comic-Con this past weekend. It was only my second convention as a guest/exhibitor, but my first time manning a table at a “big” show. Motor City tends to be more of a nostalgic TV/media event (with the primary guests being folks like Adam West, Burt Ward, […]

Next stop…Actionopolis

Actionopolis from Komikwerks A subject near and dear to my heart is the Actionopolis book line from Komikwerks. Not only have I authored two book series in the line, but I’m also a partner in Komikwerks. The first two offerings from the line, The Forest King by Dan Mishkin and […]

Motor City Comic-Con 4

I’m set to be a guest at the upcoming Motor City Comic Con in a few weeks. I’ll be hanging with the Actionopolis creators and showing off galleys of “Heir to Fire“. I’ll be camped out with the following Actionistas… Dan Mishkin – author of The Forest King Gary Reed […]

Keee-YAP! Zombie-Sama!

Just when you thought it was safe for take-out sushi…Zombie-Sama! This is Billy Tucci’s first non-Shi creator-owned work in a while. It’s a kick-ass little tale of Zombies, Samurai swords, honor and sushi. Newcomer John Broglia provides the cool animation-style art. I edited the book for Nawain Publishing. It’s quite […]

Advent is here!

I got my comp copies of “Advent Rising Rock the Planet #4” in the mail today. Yay! But two of the pages are printed out of order. Boo! So, when you’re reading through, keep an eye out for the “Flotsam & Jetsam” ad. When you see it, skip ahead two […]

Robbo in your future…

Just got the official word on some upcoming comics releases. Due out this week… Bryan Yuzna’s Horrorama #3 – This one has a story I wrote; a 10-page monster shocker about what happens when authority figures use the threat of pervasive terror to expand and abuse their power… Heavy Metal […]

Advent Rising #4 Cover Art

Production problems seem to have knocked “Advent” into a six-eight week distribution orbit. Issue #4 looks to be headed for stores later this month. In the mean time, click the image at left for a look at the cover by Cliff Richards, Denis Crisotomo and Cris De Lara.

PW takes a look at Actionopolis

Actionopolis will release two books a month beginning in July. The books are all hardcover serials, and each book is heavily illustrated with more than 40 illustrations throughout each work. Among the first titles to be released will be Heir to Fire: Gila Flats, a monster story by Rob Worley […]

Narwain’s Benefit Book

“New Orleans and Jazz” is the benefit comic from Narwain Publishing that aims to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. My little story “Louis and the Rain Clouds” appears within the covers. Although the story features real-life figures, it’s not meant to be a historical piece, but rather a […]

Robbo Joins Komikwerks

I’ve been close with the people who run Komikwerks for a while. I’ve written “Codename: Gila” and “TigerFist” for their Actionopolis book line and am working on Codename: Elemon for the Komikwerks anthology. CBR has the news that I’m joining the KW team as Director of Web Development. Gary Reed […]
