Here comes Scratch9!
The first issue of Scratch9 is due to ship this month and I realize I’ve been a bit remiss in posting about the book here at robworley.com. I have been keeping Scratch9.com current with all the latest and greatest buzz, of if you’ve been visiting there you’re up to speed.
If not here’s some interesting stuff you missed:
Now, we don’t know the exact shipping date of issue #1. We’ll have that for you soon. If you haven’t bugged your local comic shop you may want to do that now because they may have overlooked us! If you want to help your retailer order a copy of any of the issues so far, you should give him these ordering codes: Issue 1 – #JUN10 0739, Issue 2 – #JUL10 0753 and Issue 3 – #AUG10 0753
If you really want to help raise awareness about our little indie comic — and win some cool Scratch9 prizes besides enter our “Help your comics shop find Scratch9” contest!
Finally, we’ve got previews of the second and third issues right here!

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids tomorrow, bring ‘em on over to the Kids Read Comics convention Saturday or Sunday (June 12 & 13)!
I’ll be there handing out and autographing free limited edition Scratch9 posters! These are similar to the mini-posters fans got on Free Comic Book Day but they’re much larger: 12″ x 18″! They are also printed specifically for the KRC show and limited to 500 copies.
This is a completely free show and the focus is on informing young readers and creators about the art and craft of making comics. It’s held at the Henry Ford Centennial Library at 16301 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, MI 48126, between Interstate 94 and the Southfield Freeway • phone 313-943-2330.
See ya there!

Read MoreLoki & Heimdall Cover Art
The last two story books that I authored for Magic Wagon’s Short Tales line focus on the characters of Norse Myth: Loki and Heimdall. They’re available for pre-order now on Amazon for a September release.
These books were fun to write. They required a bit of research as I’m not as versed in Norse mythology as I am in Greek. I didn’t really realize when I drew this pair that their stories overlapped so much, with Heimdall clashing directly with Loki at Ragnarok.
The covers below are the first artwork I’ve seen from them. In fact, it’s from them that I’m learning that comic book artist Brandon McKinney (Spider-Man, Godzilla!!!) illustrated the Loki book. Comic book artist Shawn Moll (She-Hulk, Friday the 13th) drew the Heimdall book. Can’t wait to see the interiors.
Other books in the line include Odin by Shannon Eric Denton and Mark Bloodworth, Thor by Denton and Mateus Santolouco, Freya by Christopher E. Long and Mike Dubisch and Tyr by Long and Dubisch.
