Shannon Denton rang me up last night to tell me the first production copies of “Heir to Fire” have arrived at the secret underground Actionopolis headquarter. Neither galleys nor dummies nor any other preview version of the book. These are the real deal!
They’re part of a small quantity of the seven launch titles that were FedExed over in advance of the full print run. The full inventory is on its way over on the proverbial “slow boat from Hong Kong” and should be making harbor in a week or so. From there it’s off to our distrubtor and then on the way to book stores.
It’s good news after weeks of having to explain to people why the books are late…
“Heir to Fire” (along with “Spirit of the Samurai”) was due in stores next week. Sadly, the overseas printing process hit some snags and pushed things back.
It’s now looking as if the July titles (“Forest King” and “What I did on my Hypergalactic, Interstellar Summer Vacation”) and our August titles will all ship together with the September titles (“Blackfoot Braves Society” and “The Anubis Tapestry”).
