Thanks to my pal Zac Pensol for alerting me to the fact that the latest issue of Wizard Magazine (issue #166, cover dated August 2005 — with fantastic Jessica Alba on the cover) bears an ad revealing one of my current comics writing deals:
‘Advent Rising: Rock the Planet’ will be published by 360ep in October of this year. It’s based on the breakthrough video game developed by Donald Mustard and Glyphx and for Majesco Entertainment.
I’m writing the first six issue arc based on story concepts developed by 360ep bigwig Bill Jemas and topgun editor Teresa Focarile (both of Marvel fame — both of whom I worked with on ‘Young Ancient One’). Arthur Dela Cruz (“Kissing Chaos”) is doing the art layouts and the lovely and talented Cliff Richards (“Buffy”) doing the finished pencils and inks.
The story is a prequel to the game, detailing the exploits of young Gideon Wyeth and his hotshot older brother Ethan as they make their indelible marks on the planet Artemus.
Early buzz indicates this series will break the internet in three pieces, which is much more impressive than breaking it in half!

Congratulations, dude!
sweeeet…
I loved the story of Advent Rising. And I cant wait for your comic to come out.
Just four more weeks now!
I think you’ll dig it. It digs into the early lives of Gideon, Ethan and Olivia and gives you insights into how they came to be the people you see in the game.
