I just typed ‘The End’ on page 96 of a screenplay I’ve been working on for over a year now. The writing proper started some time in October, but my partner and I have been laying the ground work and hitting the project on and off since September of 2002.
I’ve started a number of scripts over the past few years. This is the second one that hit that magical concluding phrase. It’s a good feeling.
I’ve been wanting to blog up this project, since it’s been occupying a lot of my time for the past few months. It’s one of those situations, though, where talking about the project too much can only hurt it. So, I’m going to call it “Codename: Glass” for blogging purposes but that’s not its real name. I’ll also refrain from divulging any specific details until the time is right.
I can tell you that I’ve developed this with a partner who is quite well-known in the biz and is enjoying quite a bit of success out there in Hollywood. We developed the story together. I wrote the script.
We’ll see what happens next. Regardless, it’s been an exciting process and a great opportunity to work with someone whose work I admire.
In celebration of the script, Thanator.com has a new skin. If you’re seeing the old black/grey/red YAO skin right now you can click here to view Thanator through the prism of Glass!
More details when the time is right. And now, I rewrite!
Congrats Robbo! I hope they manage to remain true to the script that you worked so damn hard on.
Oh, and I dig the new color scheme! 🙂
–Rock on!!!
I’m happy for you, Rob. Best of luck shopping it around.
Thanks Jamie, Joe! No telling how it’ll fare on the spec market, but here’s wishing…
Go you! As my fave. creative writing prof. once said “Nothing is ever written, only re-written. 🙂
For sure. Remember the good old days of the Internet, when every website had a message or button declaring “this site is under construction”? That was before we all realized that websites were liquid things whose shaped never solidified. They are perpetually being constructed.
It’s the same with a screenplay. It’s never finished until the movie comes out. Even then, we still have the DVD re-shoots to think about. 🙂
Way to go, Robbo. Step one of your world domination scheme has gone according to plan!
