I’m still hearing talk here and there about the misconception (based on an erroneous publication) over the price “Epic Anthology #1.” It is definitely $5.99. Don’t take my word for it. Click over and peek at the price correction on the Diamond News page.
Marvel claimed there would be a press release calling attention to the correct price, but so far I haven’t seen it and I’m about to pass out from holding my breath.
And, as I mentioned before, MailOrderComics.com is a 75% discount on pre-orders for the book, bringing your price down to a mere $1.50.

I signed up for my copy of it today. Tried to hype it up as best as I could, and I think I’ve got some guys at the shop doing the same now. They did tell me, though, that they haven’t heard many ask for it. Utter shame.
I’m wondering, if they got a great response from those who did pick them up, do anthologies fall under the same no-reprint rules as single issue comics? As I see it, it’s a collection, not a single issue, so it shouldn’t apply.
Thanks, Thom! I don’t know about the answer to your question.
I’m doing what I can to raise the profile of the book, but it’s a definite uphill battle. I really want YAO to succeed though, so I’m going to keep working hard and do everything I can.
If only I could get Kirkman to go around saying, “When ‘Sleepwalker’ is published fans will finally get to see ‘Sandman’ done right.” THAT would get some attention! 🙂
