Crabtree gets A- from EW

Flipping through the latest issue of “Entertainment Weekly” (the one with Jack Black on the cover) and right there is a bit of “Young Ancient One” colorist Bill Crabtree’s work.

The magazine reviewed “Invincible“, the tradepaperback collecting the Image mini-series written by Robert Kirkman with art by Cory Walker and colors by Bill Crabtree.

The review appears in the “Listen 2 This” pullout (which may only be included in subscription copies…I’m not sure). Here’s what EW had to say:

Ah, “the talk” — when Dad sits you down to say that as you get older, your voice will change, you’ll sprout weird hair, you’ll probably get super-powers. Puberty is different for everyone, but for Mark Grayson it involves flying into battle against alien marauders with his superhero father. Played with touching deadpan humor by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker, Invincible is a charming antidote to the histrionics present in so many fights-and-tights books. And it’s got the strongest female charcter seen in many a moon: Mark’s stoic mom. A-

Congrats on some nice press for Kirkman, Walker (and Crabtree).
